We organised our first Employment Law Breakfast Seminar in partnership with Harrowells Solicitors on Tuesday this week and what a huge success it was!
There was a great turnout of delegates from a number of businesses based in the Scarborough and Ryedale area who all came down to Woodend Creative on The Crescent in Scarborough. A beautiful venue that is steeped in history and it also happens to be where our office is based, we love coming to work here every day! Yay Coffee provided the refreshments and we all enjoyed a wonderful buffet breakfast along with some networking before the seminar started.
Both Kelly Dunn, KD Recruitment and Marie Horner, Partner and Head of Employment Law at Harrowells put on a very informative and interactive presentation discussing current recruitment trends, the legalities of equality and diversity in the workplace along with looking more at Gender Diversity and Neurodivergent job seekers and how to alter your recruitment practices to attract this top talent.
“Establishing a fully pervasive culture of equality and diversity within a business is not a short-term project; it requires focus on all aspects of the employment relationship from advertising a role to providing references, and everything in between. This morning we armed delegates with some key action points to consider implementing as part of an overall plan towards achieving equality and diversity within their organisations. It was really great to be able to have a wider discussion about the biggest hurdles they felt they faced and to pool our collective thoughts on how to overcome them. A really enjoyable session with a great group of local business people.” Marie Horner, Harrowells
We can not wait to arrange our next event together so if you have any specific topics that you would like us to cover then please get in touch by emailing Kelly Dunn (kelly.dunn@kdrecruitment.co.uk) or alternatively, if you would like more information on this event and what we covered or you are looking for a recruitment agency to partner with who will support your current recruitment process whilst thinking about equality and diversity and looking at ways to attract the best talent around from a variety of different areas, then we can help you.
