Hello, I’m Kelly, the founder of KD Recruitment. Here’s a little bit about me, and why I believe our recruitment agency is pretty special.

Before KDR, I’d worked in recruitment for many years, starting as a recruitment consultant and working my way up to a senior manager in a large international corporate recruitment agency. I loved working with people but felt there was a need for a more personalised approach to recruitment. So, I launched KD Recruitment built on the principle that we help employers achieve their goals through strategic recruitment and retention.  Candidates are matched to companies they want to work for with the right culture and with similar values, so they enjoy their work and their workplace. The result is employees stay with companies longer and staff retention rates improve.

I believe it is important to uphold the highest standards and values and strive to improve the recruitment industry as a whole. That’s why KD Recruitment is a REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation) compliant organisation, and I continue to work at regional level to share best practice across the sector. We uphold the REC core principles and standards, and work to their code of practice which gives us focus and accountability which is great for our clients.

Hello!  I’m Shannon, the newest KDR recruit. I look after compliance which means I do all the checks, such as candidate ID and eligibility to work, making sure candidates are vetted prior to being accepted by our agency. I’m referred to as the “backbone of the team”, which is a lovely compliment, as I’m told this is because my work makes a massively positive impact on candidates and the roles that they find through us.

I also manage KDR’s social media channels ensuring you all get to hear about the latest news from the team.

I began my journey with KDR as a candidate looking for work. When I was going through the registration process Kelly realised my values aligned with those of the  business and interviewed me for my current role. The rest you could say is history.

Hi, I’m Cathy and I work closely with candidates and employers across the East Yorkshire region, so we’ll get to know each other well when you work with KD Recruitment.

I’ve not always specialised in recruitment, in fact when I joined KDR I had already worked in manufacturing and engineering organisations in addition to financial services, in a variety of roles including call centre operative, administration, credit control, sales and customer services, training and management; having a varied career has given me insight into the different areas of a business – I know what’s important and where we can help.

I love working at KDR, as I believe we make a difference to businesses and to people’s lives.

I work closely with clients across East Yorkshire, understanding their business, culture, and their future goals, as well as making sure that I know everything about the vacancy. Having a thorough knowledge of all our candidates means I can make suitable introductions. At the end of the day, it’s about the people not the CV. It’s a great feeling when you know you’ve placed a candidate in a role where they can flourish.

I am very driven and have completed several marathons and endurance races for charities; I cycled 1000 miles for the MND association in August 2022 and I’m always on the lookout for the next challenge.

I’m Jenna and I source and select the best talent from around North and East Yorkshire, and then work with Kelly and Cathy to match candidates to suitable companies and roles. I began my career at KDR as administrator and have since progressed to Talent Coordinator in 2023, a role that I love.

Previously, I worked for the NHS with responsibility for rotas and compliance, and prior to this, I was a flight attendant for Emirates, living for several years in Dubai.  I love travelling and also spent a couple of years catering for touring musicians including Sir Elton John and Cold Play!

I am a stickler for high standards and believe in providing a first-rate service. Our clients and candidates deserve the very best and that’s what they get from KDR.

We choose charities that have meaning to the team at KDR.  Here’s some information on who we’re supporting this year. Please help and get involved.

 St Catherine’s Hospice

We are excited to have launched an initiative to provide support to St Catherine’s Hospice and will donate £50.00 to this essential local charity for every placement made during 2023.

Children in Need

We support  Children in Need every year and last year we organised a bake sale here at Woodend; our neighbouring businesses jumped on board and we raised over £400.

Comic Relief

We love doing something funny for money so Red Nose gives us the perfect opportunity. We’ve taken part in red nose and spoon races….

MND

Cathy Wood, our Senior Recruiter and fitness fanatic, jumped on her bike and rode 1000km in August 2022, raising funds for this wonderful charity. That’s pedalling more than 32km every day.

RSPCA

Raising money by getting caked! In the past we held a bake sale; this year we took part in a 5-mile tough mudda and got caked in mud whilst raising money for the RSPCA in Hull. We’re passionate about animals so all the team took part.

Scarborough, Whitby and Ryedale MIND

Our clients and their four-legged friends joined us for this important charity fund raiser, which included a dog walk and fun agility course.
