Award winning KD Recruitment based in Scarborough, have emerged out of the pandemic with an innovative temporary staffing solution to enable them to support businesses and organisations across North and East Yorkshire.
In times of uncertainty, temporary work can be a real asset to both employers and candidates as it allows businesses to create jobs when they are unsure of what the future looks like as well as giving people a chance to get back into work, earn money, and potentially progress into a permanent position.
Kelly Dunn, MD said “With so much change going on at the moment due to Covid-19, many of our clients have been asking if we could help them and supply temporary staff in the short term to cover for interim projects, staffing shortages, restructures, holidays and sickness as well as those that have found an increase in business, but not sure how long it will last.”
“When I started KD Recruitment in 2017, I made the decision to initially focus on permanent commercial roles from Administration to HR, Finance, Marketing, IT and Procurement to name a few. I wanted to concentrate on building a loyal client base around the East Coast, York and Hull who saw us as their recruitment partner. I am really pleased that we succeeded in this and have been able to adapt quickly to the changing market and now provide a full recruitment solution to all our clients”
As a member of REC (Recruitment and Employment Confederation), Kelly takes an active part in a monthly jobs report to help them map out the current market changes within the region and the UK nationally.
The REC latest Jobs Outlook report has found that employers are looking to hire more temporary workers to help them recover from the effects of the pandemic. In May-July, their hiring intentions for agency workers in the short term (the next three months) reached net: +6, the highest level since October-December 2019.
When asked why temporary agency workers are important for their organisation, more employers say that agency workers are important for short-term access to key skills. The proportion highlighting this factor rose from 53% in January-March, before lockdown measures were introduced, to 67% in May-July.
Due to this increase and demand from their clients, KD Recruitment have invested in sourcing the best technology and resources available to be able to support businesses and organisations with their exceptional temporary solutions.
