Our client is a leading firm of solicitors based in central York who are currently looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to join their Wills and Probate team.

Supporting the head of the department, you could be managing their busy diary effectively, along with speaking to clients in their absence; taking accurate messages. You could be audio and copy typing letters and other documents relevant to a private client team as well as formatting any complex templates.


You may need to open and close all new and old client files, obtain accurate ID and send out the relevant invoices when required as well as accurately updating their case management system.

That’s why we are looking for a secretary who has previous experience within the legal sector, preferably within Private Client / Wills and Probate, although other areas of law will be considered. Someone who is self-managed with excellent organisational skills to be able to support the Head of the department efficiently with their daily duties. A secretary who has a good typing speed with the accuracy to match and excellent communication skills both written and verbally.


This is a full time position working in central York, Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm with an hour for lunch, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, pension, health plan and various discounts for any legal advice needed for yourself or immediate family.
