Our client is a leading firm of solicitors with branches based across the Region. Due to company growth, they have created a new role for a HR and Compliance Administration Assistant based at their head office in York.

Supporting the HR Advisor and Compliance Manager, you could be dealing with all administration relating to starters and leavers for the firm, from setting up new employees on their internal system, arranging training courses or even producing termination documents. You could be supporting with the recruitment process by speaking to agencies about vacancies, arranging candidate interviews as well as coordinating offer letters and contracts to go out.

HR is a busy department to work in and you could be involved in a variety of HR projects as well as dealing with any employee requests from maternity leave to flexible working etc. The compliance side of the role could involve maintaining the online compliance manual and monitoring every member of staffs’ compliance training on an annual basis.


You could also support the Compliance manager with any amendments to the compliance procedures, maintain the internal compliance register for gifts and hospitality etc as well as supporting with any firm wide projects and the external accreditation process and Audits.

That’s why we are looking for an administrator who has a genuine interest in working within HR / compliance, someone who is exceptionally organised with a strong attention to detail. Someone who wants to develop themselves and learn a new career within HR.


This is an entry level position for an administrator with excellent computer skills (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) with the communication skills to match, both verbally and written.

Working full time Monday to Friday, 35 hours a week for a market leading law firm in central York, there are 25 days holiday + bank Holidays, Pension, Health Cash Plan as well as a variety of legal discounts available. If it all goes well at the end of the contract then there is a possibility that the role could become permanent, however this is not guaranteed.
