Our client is a growing manufacturing business based in central Hull with over 200 employees. Due to company growth they are now looking for a Buying Assistant to join a small and friendly procurement team

Responsibilities

Working closely with the Senior Buyer you will be speaking to customers and suppliers on the telephone, raising purchase orders and purchase sheets.  Liaising with the planning department, you will accurately record current stock levels and update stock movement sheets.  You will also be responsible for completion of Bills of Disposal and presentation to HMRC for all end user purchases.

Qualities

We are looking for someone who is able to learn quickly and adapt to changing priorities, as well as having excellent customers service skills so that you can establish and maintain long term relationships with all of your internal and external customers and suppliers.

That’s why we are looking for Buying Assistant or Purchasing Assistant who is fully computer literate, especially Excel and Outlook.  Previous experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing business would be beneficial but not essential.  Someone who is able to work in a busy role and has a strong attention to detail and numeracy, with the accuracy for inputting all of the data needed.

Experience

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday 6am to 3pm (45 hours per week), with 25 days holidays plus bank holidays.  After 1 year service you will receive an additional day off for your birthday and have access to an excellent e-learning software package available along with an employer benefit scheme.
